A webinar was held on the 16th of September, 2021 jointly by the Zoology Department and Pranibigyan Samaj of the Department, Nanda Nath Saikia College, Titabor to mark the Ozone day and try and spread awareness about the significance of the ozone layer, causes of its depletion, impact of life on earth and suggest ways of its protection. It was inaugurated by the Academic Vice-Principal cum HoD of Botany Department, Dr. Malakhi Dutta with an inspiring speech. The welcome address was given by Mitali Chetia, Assistant professor cum Secretary, Pranibigyan Samaj. A wonderful presentation was given by Dr. Manashi Bortamuly, HoD of Zoology cum President of Pranibigyan Samaj on the topic “Ozone layer depletion and its impact.’’ Following this, short talks were given by Chandra Rohi Das, a 6th Sem student on the topic “Ozone Layer” and Manash Jyoti Das, a 5th Sem student on the topic “Ozone Depletion.” It was wound up with a vote of thanks by Dr. Munmi Pujari. The entire programme was hosted by Dr. Jafrin Farha Hussain. Both are Assistant Professors of Zoology Department, Nanda Nath Saikia College, Titabar.
On December 31st, 2020 the Education Department of Nanda Nath Saikia College conducted a meet and a workshop on the relevance of Yoga on maintaining good mental health.The meeting was presided by the HoD of Education Department. It was anchored by Assistant Professor Monikha Saikia. Vice Principal, Mr Budhin Dutta lit the lamp and gave an auspicious start to the meeting.
The President of All Assam Yoga Association and practising yoga instructor, Mr Samudra Phukan advised and instructed the students gathered on how to keep one selves stress free and to prepare for the future by keeping oneself mentally and physically fit. The yoga instructor, took yoga session with great dedication.He demonstrated the required asana and meditations to enable one to maintain a good mental health. The teachers and student also participated with full interest, enthusiasm and eagerness.
