Nanda Nath Saikia College successfully conducted the mass singing of the National Song “Vande Mataram” and live webcasting of speech of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on the occasion of 150 years of “Vande Mataram” on 07/11/2025. The program took place in the college's conference hall. The teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, along with the students, participated in the program.Nanda Nath Saikia College successfully conducted the mass singing of the National Song “Vande Mataram” and live webcasting of speech of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on the occasion of 150 years of “Vande Mataram” on 07/11/2025. The program took place in the college's conference hall. The teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, along with the students, participated in the program.The event was hosted by Mr. Bhargov Borah, Assistant Professor of the Department of History. The event began with the singing of Vande Mataram by everyone present. Thereafter, Sri Hemendra Thengal, senior Assistant Professor of the Department of Political Science, delivered a very educational speech on our National Song, Vande Mataram, where Shri Hemendra Thengal elucidated the historical journey of Vande Mataram and how it evolved into a song of resistance and a rallying cry for Indian nationalism in India’s fight for freedom against the Britishers. This was followed by the live webcasting speech of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Bhargav Borah.
