N. N. Saikia College, Titabar, successfully organized a 7-Day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Current Issues & Perspectives of Environmental Remediation: Special Emphasis on Detection and Remediation of Microplastic and Nanoplastic Toxicity” from 17th to 23rd March 2026. The programme was conducted by the DBT-IBT Hub of the college in collaboration with UGC-MMTTC, Gauhati University, along with several national and international institutes. The FDP witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, researchers, and academicians from diverse institutions. The sessions facilitated insightful discussions and meaningful knowledge exchange on critical environmental challenges, particularly focusing on emerging issues related to microplastic and nanoplastic toxicity. The programme concluded successfully, reflecting a high level of academic engagement and strong collaborative efforts toward addressing environmental concerns and promoting sustainable solutions.


An awareness programme on the eradication of ragging and the New Education Policy (NEP) 2023 was successfully conducted at N. N. Saikia College, Titabar, on 25th March 2026. The event was organized by the District Legal Services Authority, Jorhat in collaboration with the college authority. The programme aimed to sensitize students about the harmful effects of ragging and to create awareness regarding the key provisions and objectives of NEP 2023. It witnessed active participation from faculty members, students, and invited dignitaries. During the session, the speakers elaborated on the legal consequences of ragging and stressed the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic environment. They also highlighted the salient features of NEP 2023, with particular emphasis on holistic education, skill development, and student-centric learning approaches. The programme included interactive discussions, encouraging students to express their views and seek clarifications, thereby making the session engaging and participatory. Overall, the event proved to be highly informative and impactful, fostering awareness among students and reinforcing the collective responsibility required to eradicate ragging. It also aligned participants with the progressive vision and transformative goals of the New Education Policy.
