N.N. Saikia College celebrated Bohag Bihu, the principal festival of Assam, on 12th April 2025 in the college premises with active participation from the Principal, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students. The program was coordinated by the Cultural Committee as part of the institution’s effort to promote cultural heritage and community harmony. The celebration began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal, followed by opening remarks on the importance of preserving and promoting Assamese culture within the academic environment. Students dressed in traditional Assamese attire performed Bihu dances, folk songs, and cultural presentations, reflecting the essence of the festival. Faculty and staff also took part in the celebrations, contributing to the spirit of inclusiveness and togetherness. The event created a vibrant and festive atmosphere across the campus and provided an opportunity for all to share in the joy and cultural pride associated with Bihu. It also strengthened interpersonal bonds within the college community while encouraging appreciation for the state’s rich cultural traditions.

A student enrollment awareness meeting of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University was held on 8/8/25 at Nandanath Saikia college study centre, Titabar. The meeting was moderated by Dr Gautom Borah, the centre coordinator and the assistant professor of Assamese Department at Nandanath Saikia College. The meeting was attended by the Principal of Nanda Nath Saikia college, Dr Suvangshu Dutta,and two assistant professor from KKHSOU,Dr Bhaskar Bhattacharya from Philosophy Department and Dr Utpal Deka from Economics department .In his speech, Dr Bhattacharya advocated for people from all sections of society to take advantage of the educational opportunities offered by the open University. He also gave a detailed description of the duties and responsibilities of Open University. In his speech, Dr Deka presented a report on the students who have successfully completed their degrees after studying at the first Open University in the North Eastern region, Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University,for the last two decades. In this regard he informed everyone about the special importance of the degree, diploma, certificate course preparedness by the University. Dr Gautom Borah offered a vote of thanks to all the students, teachers, study centre students and parents who were present in the meeting.
