MISSION AND VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY

MISSION:

The department aims at instituting the value of animal resource and appreciates the diversity that inhabits the world. Knowing about the diverse functional aspects and their indispensable role in the ecosystem form one of the inculcating endeavor. As a part of the holistic approach, the department attempts to instill the spirit of social responsibilities among the students by carrying forward various awareness programme and personal involvement in connection with animal and environment care and conservation.

VISION:

1. Imparting quality education to the students of the Department.
2. Promoting green initiatives ‘Seuj Sankalpo’ in the College premises and in the region.
3. Promoting Orchid Plantation in the College Campus.
4. Creating awareness on conservation of biodiversity of the region. For this regular awareness programmes on butterfly conservation, spider conservation, bird species studies are being conducted by the Department.
5. Promoting awareness on Clean City/Town in the region.
6. Creating awareness on prohibition of social taboos like Child marriage, abusive use of drugs, plastic pollution, etc.
7. Creating a sense of social responsibilities towards the society, among the students of the Department.
8. Imparting knowledge on physical and mental fitness among the students.
